Through the discussion of practical examples in this course, participants will develop an understanding of stability limits for various systems. Plus, the first 25 to register and attend get a copy of Malcolm Gladwell’s classic book, The Tipping Point.

The webinar will investigate the stability of equipment commonly used at nuclear power plants such as spreader bars, cranes, gantries, and mobile equipment.  According to Instructor Kevin Reynolds, Engineering Research and Development Manager for Barnhart Crane, “The nuclear industry is the setting for some of the most challenging rigging and heavy haul activities out there.  Outages usually require rigging activities which typically get planned out well in advance.  Eliminating problems during the planning stages can greatly contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of the outage as a whole.”

While the examples come from the nuclear industry, the principles discussed will apply to any setting.

A Certification of Completion available for all registered attendees.
