Vessel Transport and Lift in Confined Texas RefineryBarnhart was contracted to transport and set three large vessels for a major upgrade at a Texas oil refinery. Navigation of the city streets and the crowded refinery was completed using Barnhart Goldhofer SPMT. Once on site the vessels were set using the Barnhart Modular Lift Tower (MLT) which was selected due to site constraints in the refinery. The three MLT lifts included a 900 ton reactor vessel, and a 220’ tall, 600 ton crude column. Upon safe and successful completion of this project the refinery will have increased its capacity almost 50% to 325,000 bpd.
