(MEMPHIS,Tenn.) Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co., a leading provider of heavy rigging and transportation solutions, is shifting additional cranes and associated equipment to its Richmond, Va. office and increasing its emphasis on heavy rigging and transport in its Gulf Coast Division.

Barnhart maintains a presence in Richmond through a subsidiary company, Williams Crane and Rigging, A Division of Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co. The Richmond project office provides heavy lift cranes, specialized transportation and engineered lifting services for major industrial contractors and manufacturers throughout the eastern United States, with a concentration on the Mid-Atlantic states from Pennsylvania to Georgia. The additional equipment will enable the Richmond office to provide increased crane service throughout the region. Tim Heldman has been named branch manager of the Richmond office and is relocating from Barnhart's project office in Huntingburg, Indiana.

"Based on market trends, we decided that it makes more sense to concentrate on providing heavy rigging and transportation solutions along the Gulf Coast," said Jeff Latture, who serves as vice president of Barnhart's Gulf Coast Division, which has an office in Mobile, Ala. "We are relocating the cranes that we have in Mobile to our project office in Richmond to beef up our fleet in the Mid-Atlantic." Latture added that Barnhart maintains cranes at other offices in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana that provide ample coverage for crane service. "We're best known for providing elegant solutions in the heavy rigging industry. We're simply putting a renewed emphasis on that expertise, along with our abilities to provide logistics, transportation and engineering services."

The company has added a Demag CC2600 to its heavy lift fleet in Mobile as part of its focus on heavy rigging. The crane is a 600-ton crawler crane, Latture said.
