BARNHART CRANE EXPANDING FLEET

(MEMPHIS, Tenn.)Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co. is increasing its fleet of rental cranes as the company continues to expand and update its equipment and services.
Barnhart is set to take delivery of three Terex-Demag T560 60-ton truck cranes and has an option to take delivery of four additional cranes within the next 12 months.
"The company is investing in these cranes as part of our effort to continually improve our services through our crane rental fleet," said Jeff Latture, senior vice president of heavy contracting, Barnhart Crane and Rigging. "We have re-allocated equipment as we have expanded into new markets and are committed to maintaining a fleet of cranes and associated equipment that best meets the needs of our customers. The T560s provide versatility on a proven platform that will enable us to better serve our customers."
New offices have been opened recently in Shreveport, La.;Gadsden, Ala.; West Monroe, La.; and Richmond, Va., bringing to 13 the total number of Barnhart offices across the nation.
The company was honored in April by the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) with the distinguished Rigging Job of the Year Award and the Transportation Group FleetSafety Improvement Award. The SC&RA awards are given annually in ceremonies recognizing the best and safest companies in the crane and rigging industry. Barnhart also received the Associated General Contractors Alabama chapter Safety Award for the heavy/industrial category for having the best safety record in 2002.
Terex-Demag's T560 truck crane was chosen after reviewing several makes and models. The 60-ton model features a maximum main boom length of 167 feet, excellent travel weight and simple carrier design.
