Load Testing is a critical function that insures safety of equipment, and most importantly, people. By ASME standards, all lifting equipment that has been fabricated, altered, or repaired should be properly load tested and inspected. Regardless of reason or requirements, Barnhart has the engineers, equipment and facilities to test to the load that you require.

Barnhart has multiple options to test a wide variety of equipment:

  • Overhead cranes & hoists
    • lifting devices
    • lifting systems
    • beams and spreader bars
  • Single source for turnkey testing services - engineering, rigging planning, facilitation
  • Testing available at customer's site or at nearby Barnhart facility
  • Provide results that meet all regulatory obligations
  • Testing within required standards, including:
    • OSHA
    • ASME
    • NUREG 0612 (ANSI N14.6)
  • Additionally, Barnhart Load testing may allow —
    • Equipment owner to troubleshoot rigging practices prior to actual project
    • Opportunity to familiarize field personnel with equipment being tested before actual use.

  • Verification of capacity calculations via structural analysis and/or finite element analysis
  • Verification of induced stresses via strain gauges and calibrated load cells
  • Full fabrication facility with staff of CWI Weld Inspectors
