At a Mississippi nuclear station, Barnhart played a critical role in a major plant uprate project — managing the lift, transport, and handling of over 19 million pounds of equipment to support a power increase.
Key components replaced included:
Main transformers
Feedwater heaters
Reactor feed pumps
Generator and turbine components
All retired equipment was safely relocated to an on-site mausoleum storage facility.
To meet the demanding schedule, Barnhart ran parallel operations with 150+ crew members and coordinated over 300 trucks for mobilization. A dedicated logistics team managed field crews and subcontractors, while custom tools were fabricated and delivered as needed.
Despite the scale and complexity, Barnhart improved timelines across every scope — a result of outstanding planning, engineering, and execution in the field.
